Airbags (Chevrolet Niva 1)

In the variant version, the car is equipped with an airbag for the driver and passenger. The airbag in the steering wheel is designed to delay the forward movement of the driver's head and chest in a frontal collision. The airbag is designed to protect passengers in addition to seat belts, but is not a substitute for them. Important reasons for using seat belts in a car equipped with airbags:

• They help keep you far enough away from the inflating airbag during sudden braking and impact.
• Reduces the risk of injury in side and rear impacts, rollovers and secondary impacts in crashes where the airbag does not deploy.
• Reduces the risk of injury in minor frontal collisions that are not severe enough to activate the airbag.
• Reduces the likelihood of a person falling out of a vehicle.

Warning.

• Never place any objects on the airbag cover or between you and the airbag. Due to the high inflation speed of the airbag, flying objects may cause serious or fatal injury.
• Always wear your seat belts, even when driving into a parking space or garage. When braking suddenly, the driver and passenger are pushed forward toward the airbag and may even touch the cover. During a collision, an inflating airbag can cause serious or fatal injury, even at low speeds.
• Do not modify the steering wheel or airbags, this may activate the airbag and be dangerous for you. For all questions, contact the dealer who sold you the car.
