Disconnect the wire terminal from the negative terminal of the battery. Remove the accessory drive belt (see Replacement of auxiliary drive belt).
Remove the air supply hose from the air filter to the throttle assembly (see Removal the throttle assembly).
Using a 12 mm spanner, unscrew the tube bracket mounting nut…
…and remove the power steering tube bracket from the generator mounting stud.
Using a 12 mm spanner, unscrew the generator mounting stud.
Remove the protective cap from the generator terminal (the intake manifold has been removed for clarity).
Using a 12 mm spanner, unscrew the nut securing the wire tip to the generator terminal.
We remove the wire tip from the generator terminal.
Using a screwdriver, press the shoe retainer..
…and disconnect the wiring harness from the generator connector.
Using a 14 mm socket head, unscrew the three generator bracket mounting bolts…
…and remove the generator with the bracket.
Using a 12 mm wrench, unscrew the nut of the lower generator mount, holding the bolt from turning with a second 12 mm wrench.
We remove the generator's lower mounting bolt..
…and remove the generator bracket.
We install the generator in the reverse order.
