The air conditioning system only functions when the engine is running and the blower fan is on. Press n = on, the indicator lamp built into the switch comes on, Fig. 38.
Press n again = off, the indicator lamp built into the switch goes out. Switching on the air conditioning system helps to eliminate fogging of the windshield.
Attention
- If the temperature inside the car is very high, before starting the engine, allow the hot air to leave the car by opening the windows.
- When the air conditioner is running, windows should be closed to prevent cooled air from escaping outside.
- The operation of the air conditioner leads to some increase in fuel consumption.
- The air conditioner should be turned off when the vehicle is moving at low speeds in conditions of high air temperature and under high engine load to avoid extremely high temperatures in the engine compartment of the vehicle.
Maintenance
To ensure the efficiency of the air conditioning system, it must be switched on for a short time at least once a month, regardless of the weather and time of year. Self-troubleshooting of the system is not allowed. Contact the official dealer of ZAO "GM - AVTOVAZ" for advice.
