Transmission control levers

The car is equipped with a five-speed gearbox, as well as a transfer case with high and low gears and a locking center differential.

Figure 23 shows the gear shifting diagrams and the positions of the transfer case lever. When selecting the positions of the transfer case lever 2, the operating conditions of the vehicle are taken into account.

The lever can occupy the following provisions:
  • I - high gear engaged, differential unlocked;
  • II - neutral position;
  • III - low gear engaged, differential unlocked;
  • IV - high gear engaged, differential locked;
  • V - neutral position;
  • VI - low gear engaged, differential locked.

The gear shifting in the transfer case from a lower to a higher range can be done while driving. In this case, the clutch pedal should be pressed twice to shift gears. The center differential in the transfer case is locked and unlocked by switching lever 2 to the appropriate position, see section "Vehicle movement".

Attention. Engage the lowest gear in the transfer case only after the car has come to a complete stop or at low speed – up to 5 km/h.
