With the ignition on, the positions of the direction indicator and headlight switch lever, Figure 21A, mean:
I – direction indicators off; low beam headlights are on if the exterior lighting is on;
II – left turn signals are on, not fixed position;
III – left turn signals on, fixed position;
IV – right turn signals are on, not fixed position;
V – right turn signals on, fixed position;
VI – towards you, high beam headlights are on regardless of the position of the external lighting switch, not a fixed position;
VII – away from you, high beam headlights are on, if the headlights are energized by the external lighting switch, fixed position.
If the windshield wiper/washer switch lever, Fig. 21B, is in the position:
I – windscreen wipers and washers are off;
II – intermittent windshield wiper mode is on, not fixed position;
III – intermittent windshield wiper mode is on, fixed position;
IV – low speed windshield wiper is on;
V – high windshield wiper speed is on;
VI – towards you, windshield washer on, not fixed position;
VII – rear window wiper on, fixed position;
VIII – additionally turns on the rear window washer, not a fixed position.
