On the left steering column switch are installed:
- side light and dipped beam switch;
- high beam switch;
- fog light switch;
- turn signal switch.
Left stalk switch: 1 - handle for turning on the side light and low beam headlights (in this position, side light is on); 2 — a ring of inclusion of antifog headlights (in this position, the fog lights are on)
The side light is turned on by turning the handle at the end of the switch away from you until it clicks and the label matches the corresponding symbol. The side light can also be turned on when the key is removed from the ignition switch. If you remove the key from the ignition while the parking light is on, it will automatically turn off. Simultaneously with the position light, the illumination of the rear license plate, instrument cluster and control panel is turned on / off, and the clock indication becomes less bright.
Also, using the left steering column switch, you can give short-term signals (blink) high beam headlights. To do this, pull the left stalk switch towards you and release it (in this position it is spring loaded).
It is not recommended to use the car's lighting devices for a long time when the engine is not running. This may lead to battery discharge.
The dipped headlights are turned on by turning the end part of the left stalk switch from the side light on position away from you until the next click (the label will match the next character). The low beam headlights can only be turned on when the ignition is on. High beam headlights are switched on by shifting the left stalk switch in the direction away from you (fixed position). At the same time, the corresponding blue indicator lights up in the instrument cluster. The main beam is turned off by moving the stalk switch in the opposite direction. The fog lights are switched on by turning the ring 2 on the left steering column switch until the label on it matches the ON symbol, turning off - by turning the ring until the label on it matches the OFF symbol. At the same time, the corresponding green indicator lights up in the instrument cluster. You can turn on the fog lights when you turn on the side light, regardless of turning on one or another headlight and turning on the ignition.
To give a signal to turn the car to the right, move the left stalk switch up. By briefly pressing the switch (non-fixed position) the turn signals will flash once and the warning light will also flash once (in the form of a green arrow pointing to the right) in the instrument cluster. When the switch is moved up to a fixed position, the direction indicators and warning lamp in the instrument cluster will flash until the switch is moved down to the center position, or until the steering wheel is turned in the opposite direction of the turn (in this case, the switch will return to its original position automatically).
Similar actions are performed if it is necessary to give a signal to turn the car to the left, only in this case the switch is moved down.
When a right or left turn signal is given, an audible signal is heard in the form of periodic clicks.
increased (compared to normal) flashing turn signal lamps in the instrument cluster and more frequent clicks of the buzzer indicate that one of the turn signal lamps is defective and needs to be replaced.
Right stalk switch: 1 - ring for adjusting the duration of the pause in the operation of the windshield wiper; 2 - handle for turning on the fog lights in the rear lights
The wiper and washer functions of the windshield and tailgate glass on hatchback and station wagon vehicles are only available when the ignition is on.
When using the vehicle in winter, the wiper blades may freeze to the windows during parking. Turning on the purifier at this time can lead to failure of its electric motor. Before turning on the cleaner, free the brushes frozen to the glass.
To turn on the windshield wiper, move the right stalk switch from the OFF position (turned off) up to one of the fixed positions:
- INT - intermittent operation of the cleaner;
- LO - constant operation of the cleaner at low speed;
- HI - constant mode of operation of the cleaner at high speed.
To briefly turn on the cleaner, lightly press the stalk switch towards the INT position and release it. In this case, the cleaner will complete one working cycle.
A special ring located on the right steering column switch, you can adjust the duration of the pause between the strokes of the wiper brushes in the INT position. To increase the duration of the pause, turn the ring towards you, to decrease it - away from you. The maximum pause duration is 10 s, the minimum is 2 s.
To turn on the windshield washer, press the lever of the right steering column switch towards you (non-fixed position). The washer fluid will flow as long as you hold the stalk in this position. At the same time as the washer is turned on, the wiper brushes will begin to move, which will make 2-4 movements on the glass (depending on how long the steering column switch is pressed) without a pause in between.
To use the tailgate glass cleaner on cars with hatchback and station wagon bodies, move the right under-steering switch in the direction away from you until it clicks (fixed position). At the same time, the cleaner brush begins periodic movements on the glass with a pause of about 5 s.
To turn on the tailgate glass washer, press the stalk switch further away from you (non-fixed position). Now, simultaneously with the supply of liquid to the glass, the brush will make 2-4 movements without a pause between them.
To turn off the cleaning mode, move the right steering column switch towards you until it clicks.
Turning on the fog lamps in the rear lights is carried out by turning the handle in the end part of the right steering column switch away from you (non-fixed position). At the same time, the corresponding orange indicator lights up in the instrument cluster. To turn off the lamps, turn the end of the switch again in the same direction. The fog lights in the rear lights come on only when the low beam headlights are on. If the dipped beam headlights are switched off and on again while the fog lamps in the tail lamps are on, these lamps will automatically turn off.
The light from the fog lamps in the rear lights at night can dazzle the drivers of vehicles moving behind. Therefore, turn on the fog light in the rear light only when necessary (in heavy fog, rain, snow and other conditions of poor visibility).
Dipped beam dimmer 1 and instrument cluster illumination dimmer and controls 2
Dipped beam beam regulator necessary so that when loading the car (passengers in the back seat, things in the trunk) headlight beams did not rise and did not dazzle oncoming drivers.
Align the mark on the regulator knob with the corresponding number next to it with the following vehicle loading options:
- 0 - one driver or driver and passenger in the front seat with an empty trunk;
- 1 - driver and four passengers with an empty trunk;
- 2 - driver, four passengers and a loaded trunk;
- 3 - the driver and a fully loaded trunk.
The effect of this regulator does not apply to the light beams of the main and side beams of headlights, as well as fog lamps.
Brightness control for the backlight of the instrument cluster and controls allows you to reduce the brightness of the backlight, for example, when driving for a long time at night (not to tire your eyes). On the contrary, on a bright sunny day, the brightness of the backlight can be increased to provide better readability of the instruments.
Adjusting the brightness of the backlight does not apply to the indication of the clock, as well as the intensity of the glow of external lighting devices.
Hazard switch. To turn on the alarm, press the button of its switch. At the same time, all direction indicators and their signaling devices in the instrument cluster begin to flash. The operation of the alarm does not depend on the position of the ignition key in the ignition lock and the inclusion of the direction indicator. To turn off the alarm, press the button of its switch again.
Hazard switch (car panel with hatchback and station wagon bodies)
The switch of heating of back glass and external mirrors. The switch button is located in the control unit for the heating, ventilation and air conditioning system. The heated rear window and exterior mirrors are only available when the ignition is switched on and the engine is running.
The switch of heating of back glass and external mirrors (shown by arrow) in the control unit of the heating, ventilation and air conditioning system (manual air conditioner).
Elements (threads) heated rear window and exterior mirrors are very powerful consumers of electricity. Using the heating elements with the ignition on and the engine off can lead to battery discharge.
When the button is pressed, the heating elements of the rear window and exterior mirrors are simultaneously turned on, while the built-in orange indicator in the switch button lights up. To turn off the heating elements, you need to press the button again, while the indicator in it goes out. If you do not turn off this function yourself, it will turn off automatically after about 10 minutes to prevent battery drain.
