We carry out the work when checking and replacing the reverse light switch.
The reversing light switch can be removed from the top of the engine compartment. The work is carried out with the ignition off.
We clean the reverse light switch and the part of the gearbox housing around the switch from dirt.
The switch is located in the gearbox housing, at the front of the vehicle.
After pressing the block lock, we disconnect the block of wires from the switch.
After turning on the ignition, we close the contacts of the switch wire block with a piece of wire. If the reverse light bulbs do not light up, you should check the electrical circuit. Otherwise, you need to replace the switch with a new one.
Using a 19 mm wrench, unscrew the switch.
We remove the switch from the hole in the gearbox housing.
The switch is sealed in the crankcase with a soft metal washer.
We connect the tester probes to the switch terminals and test the switch in the "Ohmmeter" mode. For a serviceable switch, with its rod in a free state, the tester should record "infinity", and with a "recessed" rod (the switch contacts are closed) - the presence of a chain.
Install the reversing light switch in the reverse order. Tighten the switch to the specified torque (see Appendices).
