We remove the tensioner for replacement if its mechanism is faulty, as well as when repairing the engine.
Remove the accessory drive belt (see Replacement of auxiliary drive belt).

From underneath the car, use a 14 mm open-end wrench to loosen the tensioner roller mounting bolt.

We take out the bolt with the washer..

…and we shoot a video.
To remove the tensioner…

…using a 14 mm socket, we unscrew the upper mounting bolt…

…and with a 14 mm open-end wrench, use the bolt that secures the lower mount of the device to the bracket.

We remove the tensioner.
