To make it easier to remove the engine, remove the hood (see Removal the hood).
We release the pressure in the engine fuel system (see Replacing the fuel filter).
Disconnect the fuel supply hose tip from the fuel rail fitting (see Removal the fuel rail and injectors).
Disconnect the wire terminal from the negative terminal of the battery. Drain the oil from the engine (see Changing engine oil and oil filter) and coolant (see Replacing the coolant).
Disconnect the intermediate pipe from the catalytic converter of the exhaust system (see Removal the intermediate pipe).
Disconnect the throttle cable end from the throttle assembly sector (see Replacing the throttle cable). Remove the air filter (see Removal the air filter).
Disconnect the brake booster hose and the variable intake manifold receiver tube from the intake manifold fittings (see Removal the intake manifold). Disconnect the electromagnetic valve tube from the pneumatic drive of the intake tract length change system (see Removal the intake manifold).

We disconnect the radiator outlet hose of the cooling system and the expansion tank filler hose from the coolant pump inlet pipe pipes.
Disconnect the supply hose of the cooling system radiator from the thermostat cover (see Removal and checking the thermostat).
Disconnect the hoses from the heater radiator pipes (see Removal the heater).
Disconnect the positive wire tips from the two starter terminals and the negative wire tips from the lower starter mounting bolt (see Removal the starter). Disconnect the tip of the "positive" wire from the generator terminal and the wiring block from its connector (see Removal the generator).
Disconnect the wiring harness connectors from the injectors; ignition coils; valves: purge adsorber, exhaust gas recirculation, variable intake tract length system; sensors: throttle position, crankshaft position, phases, oxygen concentration, absolute air pressure, intake air temperature, coolant temperature, detonation, speed, oil pressure, reversing light, refrigerant pressure.
Disconnect the filler hose and the pressure line tube from the power steering pump (see Removal the power steering pump).
On vehicles with variable power steering, disconnect the wiring harness from the pump valve.
The engine can be dismantled complete with or without the air conditioning compressor by unscrewing the bolts securing the compressor to the auxiliary unit bracket (without disconnecting the refrigerant supply and discharge lines) and securing the compressor with tubes away from the engine.
We show the removal of the engine assembly with the air conditioning compressor.
Disconnect the wiring harness connector from the air conditioning compressor (see Removal the air conditioning compressor).
Remove the gearbox (see Removal the gearbox). After dismantling the gearbox, the engine is supported by a support from below.

We move the wire harnesses away from the engine.
We fix the chain of the lifting device to two eyes located on the engine. Having tightened the chain, we remove the bracket of the right support of the power unit (see Replacing the powertrain mounts).
Before removing the engine from the engine compartment, you must once again check that all hoses, tubes, and wiring harnesses are disconnected from the engine and moved to the side.

Using a lifting device, we lift and remove the engine from the engine compartment.
We install the engine on the car in the reverse order.
