Replacing the throttle cable (Chevrolet Lacetti J200)

Replacing the throttle cable when it sticks (difficult movement of the cable in the sheath), caused by the breakage of some of the wires and their fraying, as well as by the breakage of the cable.

Remove the engine cover (see Checking the condition and replacing spark plugs).



We remove the rubber bushing of the cable sheath from the slot in the bracket.



We take the cable out of the holder.



Overcoming the force of the spring, we turn the throttle drive sector and, aligning the cable with the slot in the sector, we remove the upper end of the cable.





In the car's interior, we remove the lower end of the throttle cable from the slot in the gas pedal bracket (shown on a removed gas pedal for clarity)..



…and through the hole in the rubber bushing in the front shield we pull the cable into the underhood space.



Throttle cable.

We install the throttle drive cable in the reverse order. After installing the cable, it is necessary to adjust the throttle drive. When the gas pedal is not pressed, the throttle valve should be completely closed, and when the pedal is pressed all the way, it should be completely open.





To adjust the drive, use pliers to remove the cable sheath retainer... ...and, having moved the cable tip in the rubber bushing to the desired position, install the retainer in the annular groove of the tip.
