Replacing the throttle cable (Chevrolet Lanos T150)

Replacing the throttle cable when it sticks (difficult movement of the cable in the sheath), caused by the breakage of some of the wires and their fraying, as well as by the breakage of the cable.



Overcoming the force of the spring, we turn the sector of the damper drive and, aligning the cable with the slot in the sector..



…we take out the cable tip.



We remove the rubber bushing of the cable sheath from the slot in the bracket.



In the car's interior, it is convenient to disconnect the throttle cable tip from the gas pedal with the pedal removed.



Using a 12 mm socket, unscrew the two nuts securing the gas pedal bracket..



…and we move the gas pedal away from the front shield.

We remove the cable tip from the slot in the gas pedal bracket.



We pull the cable through the hole in the rubber bushing in the front shield into the underhood space.



We install the throttle drive cable in the reverse order. After installing the cable, it is necessary to adjust the throttle drive. When the gas pedal is not pressed, the throttle valve should be completely closed, and when the pedal is pressed all the way, it should be completely open.



To adjust the drive, use pliers to remove the cable sheath retainer.



Having moved the cable tip in the rubber bushing to the desired position, we install the retainer in the annular groove of the tip.
