Throttle Cable — Removal and Installation (Chevrolet Tahoe 1)

1. Disconnect the battery from ground.

2. The throttle cable is attached to the rod either with a bracket or a plastic holder.

3. Spread the ears of the bracket with a screwdriver blade and disconnect the cable sheath from the rod (see photo).



4. To remove the cable from the plastic holder, push the cable forward and lift it off the pin on the throttle lever (see photo).



5. Squeeze the latch tabs and pull the cable through the bracket.

6. Disconnect the cable from the fasteners along its entire length. Spread the holder and remove the cable from the pedal (see photo).



7. Locate the cable retaining clip on the passenger side engine compartment bulkhead. Squeeze the clip tabs together and pull it out of the bulkhead.



8. Remove the cable.

9. Installation of the cable is carried out in reverse order.
