Sequential Fuel Injection System — General Information (Chevrolet Tahoe 1)
1. The Sequential Fuel Injection (SFI) system is installed instead of the TBi system on models from 1996. The fuel supply to the SFI injection module is almost the same as in the TBi system, except that a fuel pump with higher fuel pressure is used. Centralized SFI system (Central SFI) is used on V6 and V8 5.0 l and 5.7 l engines. The injection system used on V8 7.4 l engines since 1996 is multi-nozzle and is called SFI. The throttle pipe in this system is mounted on the equalizing chamber. The lower manifold contains a plastic fuel distributor and eight injectors controlled by the PCM processor unit.
