We pump out the fluid from the power steering pump reservoir.
Remove the air filter housing (see Removal the air filter).
Remove the accessory drive belt (see Replacement of auxiliary drive belt).
We show how to replace a power steering pump on a vehicle with a system that does not change the force in the hydraulic steering drive depending on the vehicle speed.
We place a container under the power steering pump to collect the working fluid.
Using pliers, squeeze the tabs of the clamp that secures the filler line hose to the pump nozzle and slide the clamp along the hose..

…and remove the hose from the pump branch pipe.

Using a 16 mm spanner, unscrew the nipple of the discharge line tube… …and remove the tip of the tube from the hole of the pump nipple.

The connection between the tube tip and the pump nipple is sealed with a rubber ring.
We place a height-adjustable stop under the engine oil pan using a wooden spacer and unscrew the nut securing the right support of the power unit to the cylinder block bracket (see Replacing the powertrain mounts).

We lift the power unit with a support so that the pin of the right support cushion comes out of the hole in the cylinder block bracket.

Using a 12 mm socket with an extension, unscrew the two nuts securing the pump to the bracket of the mounted units through the holes in the pump pulley.

We move the pump along the studs of the bracket of the mounted units (for clarity, shown on a dismantled bracket)…

…and we remove the pump from the engine compartment.
On a car with a system that changes the force in the hydraulic power steering depending on the speed of the car, the pump is removed in a similar way. In this case, before removing the power steering pump, it is necessary to disconnect the wiring block from the electromagnetic valve located on the pump.
Install the power steering pump in reverse order. If the rubber ring is damaged (breaks, cracks) sealing the nipple of the discharge line tube, the ring must be replaced.
Remove air from the hydraulic system (see Bleeding the power steering system).
