We dismantle the steering mechanism assembly with steering rods and tips (see Removal the steering gear).
After loosening the lock nut, we unscrew the tip from the steering rod that needs to be replaced (see Replacing the tie rod end).

Using pliers, squeeze the tabs of the clamp that secures the steering gear boot to the left rod and remove the clamp.

By inserting a screwdriver blade into the lock of the clamp securing the boot to the steering gear housing, we release the lock and remove the clamp from the boot.

We remove the steering gear cover.

We slide the plastic ring along the rail.

Holding the rack from turning with a 22 mm wrench on the chamfer located on the very edge of the toothed part of the rack, use a 32 mm wrench to turn the left steering rod ball joint housing counterclockwise by the chamfers..

…and we unscrew the threaded end of the ball joint housing from the hole in the rack.
To replace the right steering rod, it is necessary to remove both steering gear boots.

Holding the rack from turning with a 22 mm wrench by the chamfer on the toothed part of the rack (see above), use a 32 mm wrench to unscrew the housing of the ball joint of the right steering rod from the rack hole.
We assemble and install the steering mechanism with rods in the reverse order.

Before screwing in the tie rod joint housing, apply a sealing sealant to its threaded tip.
We tighten the ball joint housings of the rods to the prescribed torque (see Appendices).
Before installing the steering mechanism, set the rack to its middle position (rectilinear movement of a car).
After installing the steering mechanism on the vehicle, we check and, if necessary, adjust the wheel alignment angle at the service station.
