... from a hole located below at the junction of the clutch housing with the engine oil pan.
Removing the gearbox (see Removing the gearbox), "basket" and clutch disc (see Replacing the "basket" and the clutch disc).
With a marker we mark the position of the flywheel relative to the crankshaft.
With the "17" head, we unscrew the six bolts securing the flywheel to the crankshaft flange, holding the shaft from turning with a screwdriver inserted (through a groove in the oil pan) between the teeth of the flywheel.
We remove the flywheel.
We pry off the gland with a screwdriver and remove it from the seat.
We apply a thin layer of engine oil to the working edge of the new oil seal.
We put the oil seal on the flange of the crankshaft..
... and press it into the socket, using the old oil seal as a mandrel.
We install the flywheel according to the previously applied marks. Before screwing in the flywheel mounting bolts, we apply an anaerobic thread lock to their threaded part. Tighten the flywheel mounting bolts to the specified torque (see Tightening torques for critical threaded connections).
The subsequent assembly is carried out in the reverse order.
