Removal procedure



1. Remove the engine assembly. Follow step "Engine assembly" in this section.

2. Remove the drive disc assembly. See "Drive Disc Assembly" in this section.

3. Remove the oil pan assembly. See "Oil pan assembly" in this section.

4. Remove the five bolts (1) securing the crankshaft rear oil seal housing to the rear of the cylinder block (2).

6. Remove the crankshaft rear oil seal housing (1) from the cylinder block (2).

Installation procedure



1. Install EN-46109 guide pins (1) into the two holes in the cylinder block (2) intended for the crankshaft rear oil seal housing bolts.

2. Apply a 3mm wide bead (1) of RTV sealant to the crankshaft rear oil seal housing.

2. Apply a 3mm wide bead (1) of RTV sealant to the crankshaft rear oil seal housing.


Note: Do not allow engine oil to come into contact with the joint surface of the cylinder block and the crankshaft rear oil seal housing.


3. Install the crankshaft rear oil seal housing (1) onto the cylinder block (2).

Note: A new crankshaft rear oil seal with housing also includes a sealing surface protector. The sealing surface protector should not be removed from the rear oil seal housing until installation is complete.


4. Remove the guide pins from the cylinder block.

5. Install the bolts (1) for fastening the crankshaft rear oil seal housing onto the cylinder block (2).

Tighten

Tighten the crankshaft rear oil seal housing bolts to 10 N·m (89 lb-in.).

6. Install the oil pan assembly. See "Oil pan assembly" in this section.

7. Install the drive disc assembly. See "Drive Disc Assembly" in this section.

8. Install the engine assembly. Follow step "Engine assembly" in this section.
