Remove the upper front timing belt cover (see Checking the condition and replacing the timing belt). Disconnect the wiring harness block from the phase sensor (see Removal the phase sensor) and move the wiring harness to the side.
Remove the high-voltage wire tips from the spark plugs (see Checking the condition and replacing spark plugs) and move the wires away from the cover.

Using pliers, squeeze the ends of the clamp securing the hose of the main circuit of the crankcase ventilation system and, sliding the clamp along the hose..

…we remove the hose from the cylinder head cover pipe.

We remove the idle circuit hose of the crankcase ventilation system from the other branch pipe of the cover.

Using a 10 mm socket head, unscrew the fifteen bolts securing the cylinder head cover.

The connection of the bolts with the cover is sealed with rubber rings installed in the grooves of the cover.
Using a flat-head screwdriver, pry off the cylinder head cover…

…we take it off.

We remove the gasket from the grooves of the cylinder head cover.
We clean off any remaining sealant and oil and degrease the sealing surfaces of the cover and cylinder head.
We replace the gasket with a new one.
We install the gasket in the grooves of the cover and apply a thin layer of sealant to the surface of the gasket in the area of the plugs 2 (see photo below) cylinder head and semi-circular surfaces 1 in contact with the camshaft bearing caps.
To avoid damage to the oxygen concentration sensors of the engine management system during repairs, only a special sealant recommended for vehicles equipped with such sensors can be used.

Further assembly is carried out in reverse order.
Evenly (from the middle to the edges) tighten the cover mounting bolts to the specified torque (see Tightening torques for critical threaded connections).
