Long term storage
If the vehicle will not be used for several months:
- Wash your car and wax it.
- Check for a layer of wax in the engine compartment and on the underbody of the car.
- Clean and protect rubber seals.
- Change the engine oil.
- Drain the fluid from the windshield washer reservoir.
- Check the condition of the freeze protection and anti-corrosion protection.
- Set the tire pressure to the recommended pressure for full load.
- Park the vehicle in a dry and well-ventilated area. In the case of a manual transmission, select first or reverse gear. In the case of an automatic transmission, set the selector to position P. Take measures to prevent the vehicle from rolling.
- Do not apply the parking brake.
- Open the hood, close all doors and lock the car.
- Remove the clamp from the negative terminal of the car battery. Make sure that all systems, including the anti-theft system, are disabled.
- Close the hood.
Commissioning
When you want to use the car again:
- Connect the clamp to the negative terminal of the car battery. Turn on the electric windows.
- Check your tire pressure.
- Fill the windshield washer reservoir.
- Check the engine oil level.
- Check the coolant level.
- If necessary, replace the license plate.
