Car maintenance on your own
Warning: Checks in the engine compartment can only be performed with the ignition off. The radiator fan can start even when the ignition is off.
Warning: The ignition system uses very high voltage. Do not touch these knots.
Hood
Opening
1. Pull the release lever and return it to its original position.
2. Under the front edge of the hood, locate and pull up the hood release lever.
3. Gently lift the hood. Two gas-filled struts keep the hood open.
Caution: Do not touch anything other than the sponge padding on the hood support bar handle when the engine is still warm.
Hood Closing Procedure
1. When closing the hood, be careful that you or other people do not have hands or other parts of the body under the hood cover.
2. Close the hood by releasing it at a height of about 30 cm.
3. Make sure the hood is tightly closed.
Warning: Before driving, check that the hood is securely closed by pulling on the front edge of the hood.
Do not pull the hood release handle while the vehicle is moving.
It is forbidden to drive a car with an open hood. The open hood obscures the forward view.
Driving with limited forward vision can result in a collision, resulting in damage to your vehicle or other property damage, or personal injury or even death.
