Removal and disassembling the instrument cluster (Chevrolet Lanos T150)

We carry out the work when replacing the instrument cluster, instruments, control lamps or combination illumination lamps.

Instrument cluster: 1 - control lamps; 2 — instrument lighting lamps; 3 - tachometer mounting…
Instrument cluster: 1 - control lamps; 2 — instrument lighting lamps; 3 - tachometer mounting screws; 4 - self-tapping screws for fastening the speedometer; 5 — self-tapping screws for fastening coolant temperature and fuel level indicators.


Disconnect the wire terminal from the negative terminal of the battery.

Remove the steering column covers (see Removal the steering column paddle shifters, coil cable drum and switch connector).

We unscrew the screws securing the heating, ventilation and air conditioning control unit and lower the unit without disconnecting the rods and wire blocks from it (see Removal the heating, ventilation and air conditioning control unit).

Through the opening where the heating, ventilation and air conditioning control unit is installed…

…use a Phillips screwdriver to unscrew the two screws securing the instrument panel trim.


…use a Phillips screwdriver to unscrew the two screws securing the instrument panel trim.



We use a screwdriver to pry up the headlight beam direction control switch…

…and remove the switch from the instrument panel.


…and remove the switch from the instrument panel.

By pressing the connector lock, we disconnect the wiring connector from the switch.

Using a Phillips screwdriver, unscrew the two screws securing the instrument panel trim.


Using a Phillips screwdriver, unscrew the two screws securing the instrument panel trim.



Using a Phillips screwdriver, unscrew the two screws securing the instrument panel trim.


Using a Phillips screwdriver, unscrew the two screws securing the instrument panel trim.

We remove the instrument panel trim…


We remove the instrument panel trim…

…and disconnect the wiring blocks from the rear fog light switch, the clock and the hazard warning…


…and disconnect the wiring blocks from the rear fog light switch, the clock and the hazard warning light switch.

Using a Phillips screwdriver, unscrew the four screws securing the instrument cluster.


Using a Phillips screwdriver, unscrew the four screws securing the instrument cluster.



We display the combination from the instrument panel..


We display the combination from the instrument panel..

...and by pressing the connector lock, we disconnect the connector of the coolant temperature and…


...and by pressing the connector lock, we disconnect the connector of the coolant temperature and fuel level indicators from the combination.

Similarly, we disconnect the speedometer wiring block from the combination..

…and the tachometer wiring harness.


…and the tachometer wiring harness.



To replace the backlight or indicator lamp, turn the lamp socket counterclockwise..

…and remove the socket with the lamp from the socket in the instrument cluster mounting board.

We remove the green filter from the backlight lamp.


We remove the green filter from the backlight lamp.

We take the lamp out of the socket.


We take the lamp out of the socket.

We install new lamps in reverse order.



We put light filters on the instrument lighting lamps.

To remove the instruments…

…using your finger, we press down the four transparent glass fasteners at the bottom of the…

…and three locks on top of the combination…


…and three locks on top of the combination…

…and remove the glass.

Similarly, we press the three fasteners of the overlay on top of the combination..

…and four locks at the bottom of the combination…

…and remove the instrument cluster cover.

Using a Phillips screwdriver, unscrew the three screws securing the speedometer.


Using a Phillips screwdriver, unscrew the three screws securing the speedometer.

We remove the speedometer from the instrument cluster housing.


We remove the speedometer from the instrument cluster housing.

If necessary, similarly, having unscrewed the mounting screws, we remove the remaining devices.

We assemble and install the instrument cluster in the reverse order.
