Instrument cluster (Chevrolet Aveo T300)

            0

The arrangement of instruments, control and signal lamps in the instrument cluster is shown in Figure 1.7.

The arrangement of instruments, control and signal lamps in the instrument cluster is shown in…

1 - left turn signal indicator light (in the form of an arrow with a green filter) lights up with a flashing light when the left turn signal is turned on (in sync with him). Flashing of the indicator lamp at double the frequency or its constant lighting indicates that the lamp in one of the left turn signals has burned out.

2 - minimum fuel reserve indicator light in the tank (with yellow filter) it burns constantly when there is approximately 80 km of fuel left in the tank.

WARNING: If possible, avoid driving on reserve fuel. Operation of the electric fuel pump without a continuous fuel supply with air entering the system will lead to pump failure!

3 - an electronic tachometer shows the engine crankshaft speed. The scale has divisions from 0 to 8, the division value is 100. In order to find out the crankshaft speed in min⁻¹, you need to multiply the tachometer readings by 1000. The red zone of the scale indicates a dangerous engine operating mode.

4 - high beam indicator lamp (with blue filter) lights up when the high beam headlights are turned on.

5 - Parking lights indicator lamp (with green filter) lights up when the side lights are turned on using the switch handle A in block 25 (see figure 1.6).

6 - Side door open warning light (with red filter) lights up if not closed (or not tightly closed) one of the side doors when the key is in the ignition.

7 - warning light for overheating of coolant in the engine cooling system (with red filter). When the light comes on, you should stop, let the engine cool down and eliminate the cause of overheating.

8 - brake system status and parking brake activation indicator light (with red filter) lights up when the ignition is on if the brake fluid level in the brake master cylinder reservoir is too low and when the parking brake lever is raised.

9 - Cruise control system indicator lamp (cruise control) with a yellow light filter. Lights up when the system is turned on.

10 - Engine immobilizer indicator lamp (a vehicle theft protection system that prevents the engine from starting with an incorrectly programmed key) with a red filter.

WARNING: If the indicator lamp does not go out when the ignition is turned on, turn off the ignition, remove the key and repeat the procedure. If the engine does not start after repeated attempts, contact a service station where the fault can be corrected.

11 - Power steering malfunction indicator lamp (with yellow filter) lights up for a few seconds when the ignition is turned on. If the lamp lights up when the engine is running, this means that the amplifier is faulty. If the lamp does not light up after stopping the engine and restarting it, then the amplifier is working properly.

WARNING: If the power steering malfunction lamp is constantly on, contact a service immediately, as sudden power steering failure while driving can lead to serious consequences.

12 - information display. On the display (figure 1.8) the following information is displayed:
  • 1 - fuel level indicator. The amount of fuel in the tank is indicated by the number of shaded divisions on the scale. The maximum amount is indicated by the letter F. The lowest division of the scale near the letter E, which remains shaded, indicates the remaining fuel;

WARNING: If possible, avoid driving on reserve fuel. Operation of the electric fuel pump without a continuous fuel supply with air entering the system will lead to pump failure!

  • 2 - the speedometer shows the current speed of the car. The maximum possible speed reading is 399 km/h;
  • 3 - indicator of the mode in an automatic transmission or the gear engaged in manual control mode;
  • 4 - digital clock. To display the time, press button 23 (see figure 1.7) in the instrument cluster. To set the time, press and hold button 23 for at least two seconds. To increase the hours and minutes, briefly press (less than two seconds) press button 23 the required number of times. To set the selected time value, press and hold the button for at least two seconds;
  • 5 - Rear seat passenger seat belt indicators. Appear on the display if, with passengers in the rear seat, one of them has not fastened their seat belt;
  • 6-electronic total (odometer) and daily mileage meter shows the distance traveled in kilometers. The meter readings are displayed by pressing the button 23 sequentially (see figure 1.7). After a mileage of 1,000,000 km, a new odometer countdown cycle begins. The daily mileage counter readings are reset by pressing button 23 and holding it down for several seconds.

13 - Reverse Parking Assistance System malfunction indicator lamp. Lights up red if the system is not activated when reverse gear is engaged due to a malfunction or dirt or snow sticking to the sensors.

14 - Brake pedal reminder indicator light (with yellow filter) functions if the vehicle is equipped with an automatic transmission. It lights up when the ignition is turned on, reminding the driver to press the brake pedal before moving the selector lever from the "P" (park) position to other positions.

15 - Front passenger seat belt warning light (with red filter) lights up continuously when the ignition is turned on and goes out after the passenger seat belt is fastened. Flashes if the engine is started with the seat belt unfastened, for 100 seconds or until the seat belt is fastened.

16 - Right turn signal indicator light (in the form of an arrow with a green filter) lights up with a flashing light when the right turn signal is turned on (in sync with him). Flashing of the indicator lamp at double the frequency or its constant lighting indicates that the lamp in one of the right turn signals has burned out.

17 - Anti-lock brake system malfunction indicator lamp (with yellow filter) lights up when the ignition is on for three seconds. If the system fails, the lamp lights up continuously.

WARNING: If the lamp lights up, contact a car service, since braking in all cases will occur without the participation of the anti-lock system.

18 - Airbag malfunction indicator light (with yellow filter) lights up when the ignition is turned on if there is a malfunction in the airbag system.

WARNING: If the warning light comes on, contact your car service immediately. In addition to possible failure in an emergency, the airbag may unexpectedly deploy while driving, which will lead to serious consequences.

19 - Driver's seat belt warning light (with red filter) lights up continuously when the ignition is turned on and goes out after the driver's seat belt is fastened. Flashes if the engine is started with the seat belt unfastened, for 100 seconds or until the seat belt is fastened.

20 - Low battery indicator light (with red filter) lights up when the ignition is turned on. The lamp should go out immediately after the engine starts. If the lamp is on or glows at half power when the engine is running, this indicates that there is no charging current, caused by a faulty generator or voltage regulator, or weak tension (or a break) alternator drive belt.

WARNING: Do not drive the vehicle with the light on, as in addition to a completely discharged battery, this may indicate a short circuit in the charging circuit, which could cause a fire.

21 - Oil pressure emergency drop warning light (with red filter) lights up when the ignition is turned on and warns that the pressure in the engine lubrication system is below normal. The lamp should go out immediately after starting the engine.

WARNING: Do not drive the vehicle with the light on as this will cause engine damage.

22 - Engine management system warning light (with yellow filter) lights up when the ignition is turned on and stays on while the engine is starting. The lamp should go out immediately after the engine is started. If the lamp lights up while the engine is running, this indicates a malfunction in the engine management system. In this case, the control unit switches to a backup program, which allows you to continue driving. If the lamp lights up, you need to check the electronic control unit on diagnostic equipment and fix the problem.

WARNING: Long-term operation of the vehicle with the lamp on is not recommended, as it may lead to increased fuel consumption, deterioration of the vehicle's traction characteristics and engine failure.

23 - button for switching between trip meter reading modes, resetting the daily trip meter readings and setting the time in the digital clock (see point 4 in figure 1.8). To reset the readings, press the button for a few seconds with the ignition on.

24 - Dynamic stabilization system indicator light (with yellow filter). If the lamp is constantly on, it indicates a system malfunction.

NOTE: You can continue driving if the light is constantly on. However, depending on the road surface, the vehicle's stability may be reduced. Contact a service center to have the malfunction eliminated.

Flashing of the lamp indicates that the system actively interferes with the control process. Engine power may be reduced and the car may automatically brake. If the driver forcibly switches off the system, signal lamp 25 lights up.

25 - Dynamic stabilization system deactivation indicator light (with yellow filter) (see pos. 24 above in this subsection).

26 - Traction control system shutdown indicator lamp (with yellow filter) flashes when the system is turned off.

27 - Rear fog light indicator lamp (with yellow filter) lights up when the rear fog lights are turned on.

28 - Fog lights indicator lamp (with green filter) lights up when the fog lights are turned on.
