For the Russian market, Chevrolet Aveo cars are equipped with a petrol engine R4 16V ECOTEC A16 XER (1.6 l, 115 hp).
The car is produced with sedan and five-door hatchback bodies.
The cars are equipped with a five-speed manual or six-speed automatic transmission (except for LS trim) gearbox.
Chevrolet Aveo cars are supplied to the Russian market in three basic configurations:
- LS - manual transmission, power steering, driver and front passenger airbags, braking assistance system, anti-lock braking system, tinted door and rear windows, body-colored bumpers; audio system with CD/MP3, immobilizer, central locking, electric front windows, height-adjustable steering column; 14-inch stamped steel wheels, small spare tire;
- LT - same as LS trim, plus: automatic transmission, electric windows on all doors, electric and heated exterior mirrors, heated front seats, headrests for rear passengers, rear seats folding in a 40x60 ratio; air conditioning, exterior door handles and mirrors painted in body color, information display, glasses case, steering column adjustment for reach, armrest between the front seats, 15-inch stamped steel wheels;
- LTZ - the same as in the LT package, and additionally: height-adjustable driver's seat, Bluetooth system, 16-inch alloy wheels, fog lights, rear parking sensors, side airbags and curtain airbags, leather-trimmed steering wheel.
The body of the Chevrolet Aveo is a load-bearing, all-metal, welded structure with hinged front fenders, doors, hood and trunk lid (tailgate). Windshield and rear window (rear door glass) glued. The driver's seat is adjustable in the longitudinal direction, by the tilt of the backrest and height (not on all trim levels), front passenger seat - longitudinally and by the backrest tilt. The front and rear seats are equipped with height-adjustable headrests. The backrest of the rear seat can be folded forward in parts in a ratio of 40:60 (except for LS trim).
The transmission is made according to the front-wheel drive scheme with front wheel drives equipped with constant velocity joints.
The front suspension is independent, MacPherson type, spring, with anti-roll bar, with hydraulic shock absorber struts.
The rear suspension is semi-independent, spring, with anti-roll bar, and hydraulic shock absorbers.
The front wheel brakes are disc, ventilated, with a floating caliper, the rear wheels are drum. The brake system is equipped with a vacuum booster.
The steering is trauma-safe, with a rack-and-pinion steering mechanism, with hydraulic booster. The steering column is adjustable in reach and tilt angle (in LS trim - only by tilt angle). The front airbag is located in the steering wheel hub.
All vehicles are equipped with inertia-reel diagonal seat belts for the driver, front passenger and all rear seat passengers. Front airbags are provided for the driver and front passenger, in addition to side airbags and curtain airbags for all passengers and the driver (only in LTZ trim).
The overall dimensions of the vehicles are shown in Figure 1.1. The technical characteristics of the vehicles are given in Table 1.1. The vehicle components located in the engine compartment and the main units are shown in Figures 1.2-1.4.
