Fig. 1.8. Instrument cluster
1 - electronic tachometer shows the engine crankshaft speed. The scale is graduated from 0 to 8 (division value 0.05). To determine the engine crankshaft speed in min⁻¹, you need to multiply the tachometer readings by 1000. The red zone of the tachometer scale indicates a dangerous operating mode for the engine.
2 - Oil pressure emergency drop warning light (with red filter) lights up when the ignition is turned on and warns that the pressure in the engine lubrication system is below normal. The lamp should go out immediately after starting the engine.
Warning: Do not drive the vehicle with the light on, as this will cause engine damage.
3 - warning light for malfunction in the airbag system and front seat belt pretensioners (with red filter). If the system is working properly, the warning light will come on briefly when the ignition or starter is turned on. If the warning light flashes, stays on, or does not come on when the ignition is turned on, this indicates a malfunction of the airbags or seat belt pretensioners in the front seats. In this case, you should immediately contact an authorized Chevrolet dealer for service.
4 - Diesel particulate filter malfunction indicator light (for cars with diesel engine)
5 - Electronic Stability Program (ESP) malfunction indicator lamp (with red filter). When the ignition is turned on, it lights up briefly. When the system is triggered, the lamp starts to flash, and when the system is faulty, it lights up constantly.
6 - immobilizer malfunction indicator lamp (with yellow filter) lights up or flashes, which means that the electronic immobilizer is faulty. In this case, starting the engine is impossible.
7 - Low battery indicator light (with red filter) lights up when the ignition is turned on. Immediately after the engine starts, the signal lamp should go out. 1 if the lamp is burning or glowing at half power when the engine is running, this indicates a lack of charging current caused by a faulty generator or voltage regulator, or weak tension (or a break) auxiliary drive belt.
Warning: Do not drive the vehicle with the warning light on, as this may indicate a short circuit in the charging circuit, which could cause a fire, in addition to a completely discharged battery.
8 - Driver's seat belt warning light (with red filter). Lights up when the ignition is turned on and goes out after the driver fastens the seat belt. In addition, when the ignition is turned on, a warning buzzer is turned on simultaneously with the lamp for 4-8 seconds.
9 - coolant temperature indicator in the engine cooling system. Zone H warns of engine overheating. If the arrow approaches the zone H mark, you should stop, let the engine cool down and eliminate the cause of overheating.
10 - Driver's door open warning light (with red filter) lights up if not closed (or not tightly closed) one of the side doors when the key is in the ignition.
11 - electromagnetic fuel level indicator. Zone E means the remaining fuel reserve.
Warning: If possible, avoid driving on reserve fuel. Operation of the electric fuel pump without continuous fuel supply with air entering the system will lead to pump failure!
12 - Anti-lock brake system (ABS) malfunction indicator lamp (with yellow filter). Lights up for a few seconds after the ignition is turned on. If the light comes on while the vehicle is moving, it indicates a malfunction of the ABS system. The braking system of your vehicle remains operational, but you should immediately contact an authorized Chevrolet dealer for service.
Warning: The requirement to immediately contact a car service is due to the fact that braking in all cases will occur without the participation of the anti-lock system.
13 - Gear selector lock indicator light (in cars with automatic transmission).
14 - Electronic dynamic stabilization system shutdown indicator light (with red filter) lights up when the system is turned off.
15 - Traction control system shutdown indicator light (with red filter) lights up when the system is turned off.
16 - Ultrasonic parking assistance system malfunction indicator lamp (with red filter). The reason for the lamp to light up may be a malfunction in the system, dirt, ice or snow getting on the sensors, or interference from external ultrasound sources.
17 - the speedometer shows the current speed of the car. The scale is graduated from 0 to 220 km/h, the division value is 2 km/h.
18 - glow plug indicator light with yellow filter (for cars with diesel engine). If the lamp is on, the heating is on; if it blinks, it means there is a problem with the engine (contact the service center).
19 - Rear fog light indicator lamp (with green filter) lights up when the rear fog lights are turned on.
20, 28 - control lamps for turning on the right and left direction indicators (hazard warning light indicator) in the form of arrows with a green light filter, they light up with a flashing light when the right or left turn signal is turned on, respectively.
21 - Rain sensor indicator light (with red filter) lights up when the sensor is turned on.
22 - Fog lights indicator lamp (with green filter) lights up when fog lights are turned on (if fog lights are installed).
23 - button for switching the electronic total mileage counter (odometer) and daily mileage. Successive presses of the button switch on the total mileage indication mode and two daily mileage modes. Holding the button down resets any daily mileage counter.
24 - electronic total mileage counter (odometer) shows the distance traveled in kilometers. After 1,000,000 km, a new countdown cycle begins. On the same display, by successive pressing of the mode switching button 23, the indication of two daily mileage counter modes is switched on.
25 - signal lamp for the next vehicle maintenance (with yellow filter) lights up when the next maintenance period approaches.
26 - High beam indicator lamp (with blue filter) lights up when the high beam headlights are turned on.
27 - Brake system malfunction/parking brake on indicator light (with red filter). Displays the following system status:
- comes on and stays on continuously when the parking brake is applied and the ignition switch is in the "starter" or "ignition on" position. The indicator lamp goes out when the parking brake is completely released;
- continues to light after the parking brake is completely released. Possible cause: a malfunction of the brake system.
29 - External lighting indicator lamp (with green filter) lights up when the outside lights are on.
30 - Engine management system malfunction indicator lamp (with yellow filter) lights up when the ignition is turned on and stays on while the engine is starting. The lamp should go out immediately after the engine is started. If the lamp lights up while the engine is running, this indicates a malfunction in the engine management system. In this case, the control unit switches to a backup program, which allows you to continue driving. If the lamp lights up, you need to check the electronic control unit using the self-diagnosis function and fix the malfunction.
Warning: Prolonged operation of the vehicle with the light on (and even more so with a flashing one) it is not recommended to use a lamp, as it can lead to increased fuel consumption, deterioration of the vehicle's traction characteristics, and damage to the engine and its systems.
31 - cruise control system activation indicator lamp.
