To change the direction of air flow, use the control knob 5 (figure 1.9) air flow distribution one of five options (clockwise):
- air supply to the upper part of the cabin (through the side and central nozzles of the instrument panel);
- air supply to the bottom (through the lower nozzles of the heater body) and the top (through the side and central nozzles of the instrument panel) interior parts;
- air supply to the lower part of the cabin (through the lower nozzles of the heater body);
- air supply to the lower part of the cabin (through the lower nozzles of the heater body) as well as on the front door windows and windshield (through the windshield blower nozzles);
- air supply to the windshield (through the windshield blower nozzles).

To increase the intensity of air supply to the passenger compartment while driving and to ensure air supply to a stationary vehicle, use the switch handle 3 to turn on one of the four operating modes of the air blower fan.

To change the temperature of the air entering the cabin, turn the knob of the temperature regulator 1. The left (blue) part of the scale corresponds to the supply of the coolest air, the right (red) - the warmest air. With the knob in the middle position, air is supplied to the cabin at the ambient temperature.
NOTE: On a vehicle without air conditioning, the air at ambient temperature (without cooling) is supplied when the handle is on the left side of the scale.

To quickly eliminate fogging of the rear window, press the switch button 7 of the rear window heating. When you press the switch button (the engine must be running) the electric heating of the glass is switched on, and at the same time the control lamp in the button lights up. When the button is pressed again, the heating is switched off, and the control lamp goes out.
WARNINGS: The heating element draws a very high current, so to avoid excessive battery discharge, turn on the electric heating with the engine running and only for the time necessary to eliminate glass fogging.
To avoid damaging the heater threads, do not use scrapers or other sharp objects, or detergents containing abrasives, to clean the inside of the glass.

To turn on the recirculation mode, press the button of the recirculation mode switch 4. The indicator lamp in the button will light. When you press the button again, the supply of outside air will resume and the indicator lamp in the button will go out. When the recirculation mode is on, outside air does not enter the passenger compartment, and the air blower fan ensures air circulation inside the passenger compartment. This mode is used to quickly warm up the passenger compartment in cold weather, as well as in cases of increased dustiness and gas pollution of the surrounding air.
WARNING: It is not recommended to leave the recirculation mode on for a long time while the vehicle is moving, as this will usually cause the windows to fog up.

To cool the air entering the car, press the switch button 4 of the air conditioner - the control lamp in it will light up. To turn off the air conditioner, press the button again.
NOTE: The air conditioner will not turn on if the blower fan mode switch is set to the "0" position (the fan is off) or the ambient temperature is below 0°C. This is not a sign of a malfunction, but is provided for by the design.
WARNINGS: Turning on the air conditioner while the engine is running under severe conditions (long climbs, heavy city traffic, etc.) may cause the engine to overheat. Monitor the coolant temperature gauge: if the temperature exceeds the permissible value, turn off the air conditioner.
During long trips in city traffic conditions, the efficiency of the air conditioner may decrease due to the intense thermal conditions of the engine. This is not a sign of a malfunction; when driving in normal road conditions, the air conditioner will work effectively.

When you press the switch button 6...

...or 8, the electric seat heating is switched on, respectively, for the front passenger or driver. At the same time, the control lamp in the button lights up. When pressed again, the electric heating is switched off and the control lamp in the button goes out.
WARNINGS: The heating element draws a very high current. To avoid excessive battery discharge, operate the heating element with the engine running and only for the time required to warm the seats.
Depending on the various combinations of the control unit switches, the heating and ventilation system operates in the following main modes:
- maximum cooling mode. Used in hot weather and after prolonged parking in the sun to quickly cool the air in the cabin. In this case, before turning on the air conditioner, it is recommended to briefly open the windows to remove heated air from the cabin. Set the switch handle 3 for the intensity of air supply to the cabin to position "4". Set the control handle 5 for the distribution of air flows to position
- normal cooling mode. It is used when driving around the city and outside the city in moderately warm weather. Set the switch handle 3 for the intensity of air supply to the passenger compartment to position "2". Set the control handle 5 for the distribution of air flows to position
- ventilation mode. It is used in the off-season, which is characterized by low temperatures and lack of sunlight. Set the switch handle 3 of the air supply intensity to the "2" position. Set the control handle 5 of the air flow distribution to the position
- maximum heating mode. Used at very low ambient temperatures and for quick heating of the air in the passenger compartment after a long period of parking. Set the switch handle 3 for the intensity of air supply to the passenger compartment to position "4". Set the control handle 5 for the distribution of air flows to position
- normal heating mode. It is used in the cold season to maintain the optimum air temperature in the passenger compartment after its intensive heating in the maximum heating mode. Set the switch handle 3 of the air supply intensity to the "2" position. Set the regulator handle 5 of the air flow distribution to the position
- windshield and front door glass blowing mode. It is used to quickly eliminate fogging of windows at high humidity. Set the handle of the interior air supply intensity switch 3 to position "2". Set the handle of the air flow distribution regulator 5 to the following position:
NOTE: To prevent the glass from fogging up in rainy weather, turn on the blowing mode with the heater turned off, since the difference in temperature between the glass surface and the supplied air can cause condensation.
USEFUL TIPS: For more efficient ventilation and heating at vehicle speeds below 50 km/h and when driving on particularly dusty road sections with the windows closed (to create excess air pressure in the cabin, preventing dust suction) we recommend turning on the heater fan switch at low or maximum speed.
To quickly eliminate fogging of the rear window and free it from ice and snow, turn on the heated glass switch.
If you do not use the air conditioner for a long time, it is necessary to turn it on briefly once a week with the engine running to restore the lubricant layer on the compressor parts and seals.
