Replacing the exhaust system suspension cushions (Chevrolet Lanos T150)

If the rubber mounts of the exhaust system suspension are damaged, knocking sounds may be heard under the bottom of the car when the vehicle is moving or when the engine is started due to the system parts touching the body.

Pillows may be torn, lose elasticity, have cracks and tears.

The suspension cushions of the main, additional mufflers and intermediate pipe differ slightly from each other in design, but are identical in the method of attachment.

We show the operations on the front suspension cushion of the main muffler.

The remaining suspension cushions are removed and installed in a similar manner.



Spray the holes in the cushion where the muffler and body brackets go with silicone grease, such as Silicone Spray Lubricant from Permatex.



Using your hand or a screwdriver, pull the cushion off the main muffler bracket.


We pull the cushion from the body bracket and remove it.

If the cushion needs to be replaced, it can also be removed from the brackets by cutting it with a knife.

Before installing a new cushion, clean the brackets and spray the cushion holes with silicone grease.
