To avoid burns, it is recommended to start work after the exhaust system has cooled down.
We disconnect the flanges of the intermediate pipe and the catalytic converter and remove the sealing gasket (see Removal the intermediate pipe).

Using a 12 mm socket, unscrew the three bolts securing the heat shield…

…and we take it off.
To make the subsequent operation easier, remove the high-voltage wire tip from the spark plug of the second cylinder.

Penetrating liquid ("liquid key") We wet the nuts of the studs that secure the catalytic converter flange to the exhaust manifold flange with a special penetrating liquid.

Using a 14 mm socket with an extension, unscrew the three nuts securing the flanges of the catalytic converter and the exhaust manifold (for clarity, the tip of the high-voltage wire of the spark plug of the first cylinder has been removed).

Removing the catalytic converter..

…and a sealing gasket.
We install the catalytic converter in the reverse order.
We replace the sealing gaskets in the joints of the flanges of the intermediate pipe with the catalytic converter and the catalytic converter with the exhaust manifold with new ones.
