
1. Remove the bolt securing the intake pipe support bracket to the cylinder block.

2. Unscrew the nut securing the bracket to the catalytic converter stud.

3. Remove the support bracket, unscrew the remaining two nuts securing the inlet pipe to the neutralizer.

4. Lower the exhaust pipe slightly.

5. Remove the sealing gasket from the neutralizer.

6. Unscrew the three nuts securing the catalytic converter to the exhaust manifold (see "Replacing the exhaust manifold").

8. Inspect the neutralizer core. If there are cracks on the surface, signs of chipping, melting or blockage of the core channels, the neutralizer must be replaced.
9. Install the catalytic converter in the reverse order of removal.

7. Remove the catalytic converter from the vehicle.
Do not knock on the neutralizer body. The active mass of the neutralizer core, which withstands high operating temperatures, is very fragile under mechanical impact.

8. Inspect the neutralizer core. If there are cracks on the surface, signs of chipping, melting or blockage of the core channels, the neutralizer must be replaced.
9. Install the catalytic converter in the reverse order of removal.
