1. Remove the decorative engine cover (see "Removal and installation the decorative engine cover").
2. Squeeze the latch...
3. ...and disconnect the oxygen concentration sensor control wiring harness connector.
4. Remove the wire harness from the holder.
5. Remove the exhaust manifold heat shield (see "Removal and installation of thermal screens").
6. Unscrew the three nuts securing the catalytic converter to the exhaust manifold.
7. Remove the engine oil level indicator (dipstick).
8. Unscrew the ten nuts securing the exhaust manifold to the cylinder head...
This is how the nuts securing the exhaust manifold to the engine cylinder head are located.
The power unit mounting eye is located on the leftmost stud.
9. ...and remove the exhaust manifold.
10. Remove the exhaust manifold gasket from the cylinder head studs.
Helpful Hint: Replace the exhaust manifold gasket with a new one each time you disassemble it.
11. If you are replacing the exhaust manifold, remove the oxygen sensor from the removed exhaust manifold and install it on the new unit.
12. Install the exhaust manifold and its gasket in the reverse order of removal.
