Replacing the exhaust manifold (Chevrolet Cruze J300)

You will need: a 22 mm wrench, 12 mm and 14 mm socket wrenches.

1. Remove the decorative engine cover (see "Removal and installation the decorative engine cover").

3. ...and disconnect the oxygen concentration sensor control wiring harness connector.

4. Remove the wire harness from the holder.

6. Unscrew the three nuts securing the catalytic converter to the exhaust manifold.

7. Remove the engine oil level indicator (dipstick).

8. Unscrew the ten nuts securing the exhaust manifold to the cylinder head...

10. Remove the exhaust manifold gasket from the cylinder head studs.



Helpful Hint: Replace the exhaust manifold gasket with a new one each time you disassemble it.

11. If you are replacing the exhaust manifold, remove the oxygen sensor from the removed exhaust manifold and install it on the new unit.

12. Install the exhaust manifold and its gasket in the reverse order of removal.
