Removal procedure



Attention! It is necessary to make sure that all components have cooled down. Then carry out the work.


1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.

2. Remove the exhaust manifold heat shield.

2. Remove the exhaust manifold heat shield.


3. Remove the exhaust pipe. See "Muffler inlet pipe" in this section.

4. Remove the pre-catalytic converter clamp.

5. Remove the pre-catalytic converter bracket bolt from the engine block.

6. Remove the pre-catalytic converter together with the sealing ring.

6. Remove the pre-catalytic converter together with the sealing ring.


Installation procedure



1. Install the pre-catalytic converter together with the sealing ring. If the sealing ring is damaged, replace it with a new one.

2. Install the pre-catalytic converter clamp and screw in the bracket bolt.



Tighten

Tighten the pre-catalytic converter bracket bolt to 40 Nm (29.5 ft·lbs).

3. Install the exhaust manifold heat shield.

Tighten

Tighten the exhaust manifold heat shield bolt and nut to 20 Nm (14.8 ft·lbs).
