Front muffler — removal and installation (Chevrolet Captiva 1)

Removal procedure

Attention! It is necessary to make sure that all components have cooled down. Then carry out the work.

1. Remove the gasket and nuts securing the front muffler pipe to the diesel particulate filter (DPF).



2. Remove the gaskets and nuts securing both flanges of the rear muffler pipe.



3. Remove the rubber hangers.

4. Remove the front muffler.

Installation procedure

1. Secure the front muffler to the rubber mounts.



2. Install nuts and gaskets on both flanges of the rear muffler pipe. If the gasket is damaged, replace it with a new one.

Tighten

Tighten the nuts securing the front muffler to the rear muffler to 40 Nm (30 ft·lbs).



3. Install the gasket and nuts securing the front muffler pipe to the diesel particulate filter (DPF). If the gasket is damaged, replace it with a new one.

Tighten

Tighten the nuts securing the front muffler to the diesel particulate filter (DPF) to 30 Nm (22 ft·lbs).
