Gearbox oil change (Chevrolet Lanos T150)

            0

At the factory, the gearbox is filled with transmission oil designed to last the entire service life of the vehicle.

However, if a significant oil leak is detected during the operation of the vehicle, it would be better to replace it with a new brand of oil instead of adding another brand.

It is recommended to change the transmission oil on a warmed-up gearbox.

It is better to plan an oil change after a long trip.

…and through the gap formed between the cover and the gearbox housing, we drain the oil into a container placed underneath.

We completely unscrew the bolts and remove the cover.

We clean it from deposits of wear products of gearbox parts and traces of the old gasket, and also clean the mating surface of the gearbox housing from traces of the old gasket.

We replace the gasket with a new one.

If there is no new gasket, a special gasket former sealant can be applied to the mating surface of the cover in a continuous layer.

Before installing the cover in place, to ensure reliable fixation, apply to the threaded part of the bolts…

We screw in the bolts and tighten them evenly.

Fill the gearbox with transmission oil to the required level (see Checking the level and adding oil to the gearbox).
