We set the gear shift lever to neutral position.
In the engine compartment…

…using a 14 mm socket, loosen the bolt that secures the terminal connection of the control rod to the tip.
Inside the car…

…overcoming the resistance of the gearshift lever boot frame fasteners…

…we remove the frame together with the cover from the floor tunnel lining, turning the cover inside out.

We align the holes in the plastic stop of the gear shift lever and the control mechanism housing.

We fix the position of the lever with a mandrel or a drill shank with a diameter of 5.0 mm, passing through the holes in the lever stop and the control mechanism housing.

In the engine compartment, remove the plug from the hole in the gearbox shift mechanism cover (for clarity, shown on a removed gearbox).

Turn the gearshift shaft counterclockwise until the mandrel (for example, a drill shank) 5.0 mm in diameter will not fit into the hole all the way.
In this position of the control rod and the tip of the gear shift mechanism, tighten the terminal connection bolt to a torque of 15 N·m.
Having removed the mandrels from the holes, we check the clarity of gear engagement.
If necessary, repeat the adjustment.
Further assembly is carried out in reverse order.
