2. Raise the vehicle and place it on stands.
3. Unscrew the filler plug in the gearbox housing.
4. On a gearbox with a drain plug, unscrew the plug and drain the oil. Replace the plug and tighten it.
5. On a gearbox without a drain plug, insert a flexible hose into the filler hole and pump out the oil.
6. If there is no pump, remove the gearbox cover. To do this, unscrew the bolts on the bottom of the cover (see photo). Loosen the bolts at the top without removing them completely (see photo). Drain the oil and remove the cap (see photo).

7. Clean the inside of the cover and accessible parts of the gearbox. Check the condition of the gearbox gears.
8. Thoroughly clean the split surfaces of the gearbox and cover (see photo).

9. If the cover is installed on a gasket, lightly coat the gasket with sealant and glue it to the cover plane in place. If the cover is installed on RTV sealant, wash the planes with solvent, apply a bead of sealant to the cover and install the cover while the sealant is still wet.
10. Secure the cover with bolts. Tighten the bolts.
11. On all models, fill the gearbox with oil using a pump or syringe until it reaches the bottom of the hole.
12. Tighten the plug.
