Gearbox oil change (Chevrolet Orlando 1)

            0

Gearbox oil change is not included in the maintenance plan. Oil draining may be necessary if the gearbox is removed. After installing the gearbox, it is recommended to add new transmission oil.

To perform the work, you will need a wide container for collecting the drained oil with a capacity of at least three liters, a special oil syringe for adding oil, an inspection ditch or overpass, and a new differential cover gasket. We carry out the work in the following order:

1. We prepare the car for maintenance and repair, and install it on an inspection ditch or overpass.

2. Remove the engine crankcase protection and unscrew the inspection hole plug (see above).

3. Place a container for oil under the differential cover.

4. Using a 12 mm socket or open-end wrench, loosen the ten bolts on the differential cover...

...and drain the oil from the gearbox through the resulting gap.

5. After waiting until the oil stops flowing out, unscrew all the bolts securing the cover and remove it. Pour out the remaining oil from the lid.

6. Before filling with oil, install the cover with a new sealing gasket. Evenly, in several steps, tighten the cover mounting bolts (final tightening torque of bolts 50 Nm)

7. Fill the transmission oil into the gearbox (see above).
