If a transmission oil leak is detected, it is necessary to eliminate the malfunction as soon as possible, and bring the oil level in the gearbox housing up to normal. To add oil, a filler hole is made on top of the crankcase, into which a breather is screwed.
We perform the check with the engine not running, waiting at least 15 minutes after it has stopped.
To carry out the work, you will need an inspection pit or overpass. You may need a special oil syringe to add oil and a small container to hold the oil. If you don't have an oil syringe, you can use a funnel with a hose attached to it to add oil.

We carry out the work in the following order.
1. We prepare the car for maintenance and repair.
2. Remove the engine crankcase protection.
3. Using a 13 mm wrench, unscrew the inspection hole plug.

The oil level should be at the lower edge of the inspection hole.

4. If the level is low, oil must be added. To do this, place a small container under the inspection hole.
5. Clean the breather and the surface around the breather.

6. Remove the breather cap.

7. Using a 17 mm socket wrench, unscrew the breather from the filler hole.

6. Using a special syringe or through a funnel with a hose, add oil to the gearbox in small portions until it begins to flow out of the inspection hole.
7. Install the breather into the filler hole and tighten it to a torque of 35 Nm.
8. After waiting for the excess oil to flow out of the gearbox housing, tighten the inspection hole plug to a torque of 6 Nm. Then tighten the plug another 45-180°.
Recommendation. Do not use excessive force to tighten the plug. If oil leaks from under the plug, it is better to apply an oil-resistant sealant to its threaded part.
9. Remove oil stains with a rag.
