Features of the body design (Chevrolet Cruze J300)

            0

The Chevrolet Cruze car body is a load-bearing structure, all-metal, four-door sedan type. The body frame includes the base, sidewalls, roof and parts connected to each other by electric welding (point, seam and arc). The body is a non-separable structure with sufficient rigidity and carries all the vehicle units, body attachments and interior parts.

The hinged units include the side doors, hood, trunk lid, front fenders, front and rear bumpers. The side doors, hood, trunk lid are attached to the body with hinges, the front fenders - with bolts.

The side doors are equipped with drop-down windows. Depending on the configuration, the cars are equipped with electric windows for the front and rear doors. To protect against side impacts, the doors are reinforced with a special impact-resistant beam.

The side door and side panel glass, as well as the rear window, are bent, polished, and tempered. The windshield glass is three-layered. The windshield glass, rear window, and side panel glass are glued into the corresponding openings of the body. The windshield glass and rear window are equipped with electric heating.

The front and rear bumpers are plastic, painted in the body color, attached to the body with bolts, screws and plastic clips. In a low-speed collision up to 4 km/h, the front and rear bumpers can absorb the energy of relatively weak impacts, which minimizes repair costs.

The front seats are separate, with mechanical adjustment of the longitudinal position and the angle of the backrest. On Chevrolet Cruze family cars, depending on the configuration, additional adjustment of the lumbar support in the driver's seat backrest is provided. The headrests of the seats are easily removable, adjustable in height, installed on the backrests of all seats. The rear seat includes a cushion and two backrests. If necessary, the backrests of the rear seat can be folded in parts to increase the capacity of the luggage compartment.

Seat belts for the driver and all passengers are inertia-type.

In order to increase passive safety, the car is equipped with the SRS system. It includes airbags for the driver and front passenger, which are deployed in the event of an accident. Depending on the configuration, side airbags may be installed.

The car's interior is equipped with an energy-absorbing instrument panel, a cigarette lighter, an ashtray, sun visors, a heating, ventilation and air conditioning system, a rear-view mirror, and handrails.

The volume, temperature, direction and intensity of air flows are regulated by switches installed in the control unit of the heating, ventilation and air conditioning system.

Exhaust ventilation is provided through grilles located on the side panels of the luggage compartment of the body.

For towing, the vehicle is equipped with three welded eyes at the front and one at the rear.

Helpful tips: When parking your car for a long time, do not cover the body with a cover made of thick material. A cover that gets wet in the rain creates a steam "bath" when heated in the sun, and the paintwork underneath may peel off and swell. In addition, the cover moves under gusts of wind and erases the paint on the protruding parts of the body.

Do not place rubber objects on the body. After some time, the rubber will leave a residue on the coating (especially light) stubborn stains. From time to time, pass a thin metal plate between the side glass and the rubber strip on the door to remove dust, sand and protect the glass from scratches.

After washing, be sure to remove the rubber mats and dry the interior. Moisture under the mats is the main cause of floor corrosion.
