The switch is mounted on the brake pedal bracket under the instrument panel.
Disconnect the wire terminal from the negative terminal of the battery. Remove the lower instrument panel trim (see Removal the lower instrument panel trim).

By pressing the connector lock, we disconnect the wiring harness connector from the switch (the instrument panel has been removed for clarity).

Turn the switch 90° (for clarity, shown with the brake pedal removed)

and remove the switch from the hole in the pedal bracket.
To check the switch we use an ohmmeter.

We connect the ohmmeter probes to the switch contacts.
For a serviceable switch, when its rod is in a free position (the switch contacts are closed), the device must record the presence of a circuit and, conversely, when the rod is "recessed", the circuit must be open.
We install the switch in the pedal bracket. To adjust the length of the switch rod, press the brake pedal with your hand, pull the switch rod out to the stop and release the pedal. We connect the wiring harness block to the switch.
