Towing a car (Chevrolet Niva 1)

To tow your vehicle, secure the towing cable only to the front or rear towing eyes provided for this purpose, see Figure 40. Before towing, set the ignition switch to position I and turn on the light signaling system in accordance with the Road Traffic Regulations. When towing, ensure that the towing cable is kept taut at all times.

Caution. The brake booster only functions when the engine is running. Therefore, when towing a vehicle with the engine off, you should press the brake pedal much harder when braking.

Tow the vehicle smoothly, without jerking or making sharp turns.

Please note: The towing eyes are intended only for towing the vehicle on public roads with a force not exceeding 50% of the vehicle's gross weight, in accordance with EEC Directive 96/64.
