- 0.5 mm at a distance of 50 mm from the end welds;
- 0.3 mm in the middle.
If the runout exceeds the specified values, straighten the shaft under a press or replace it.
Slotted connection. Check the gap in the splined connection of the sliding fork of the front and rear shafts, as well as in the connection of the flange with the intermediate shaft. The maximum permissible circumferential clearance along the average diameter of the spline is 0.30 mm.
Check plug in plug 5 (see fig. 3-44), condition of clip 7 and stuffing box 6 of the sliding fork, as well as clip 5 (see fig. 3-43) and stuffing box 4 intermediate shaft flange. If necessary, replace the seal, and if damaged, replace the clip.
Cardan joints. Check the condition of the bearing housings, needles, cross spikes, seals, end washers.
If the bearing housings, spider needles and spikes, or seals or end washers are damaged or worn, replace the spider assembly with bearings.
The diameter of the hole for the needle bearing must not exceed 28.021 mm.
Check up a condition of the hinge of an intermediate cardan shaft.
Check the condition of the boot 11 and casing 12. The parts must not be damaged, deformed from twisting, traces of grease ejection. Hinge parts 14 should not have damage, nicks, burns.
If the working surfaces of the intermediate shaft hinge parts are more than 0.1 mm damaged or worn, replace the hinge assembly.
Note. Mounting on the hinge shaft - with the replacement of the retaining ring.
Elastic coupling. Check the condition of the rubber elements of the flexible coupling. If there are cracks or delamination of rubber from metal liners, replace the flexible coupling.
