Removal and installation the master and slave cylinders of the clutch release drive (Chevrolet Niva 1)

First of all, drain the working fluid. To do this, put one end of the hose on the air release nipple 14 (see figure 3-2) working cylinder, and lower the other into a clean vessel; unscrew the fitting 14 by ½-3/4 of a turn and press the clutch pedal until the fluid is removed from the hydraulic system, then disconnect the hose 6 of the clutch hydraulic drive, tube 17 and the connecting hose 2 of the reservoir with the master cylinder.

To remove the master cylinder 1, unscrew the two nuts securing it to the pedal bracket.

The slave cylinder is attached to the clutch housing using bracket 13, so to remove it, you must first unscrew the two bracket mounting bolts.

To install the master and slave cylinders, perform the above operations in reverse order, while:
  • master cylinder connection surface 1 (see figure 3-2) with the pedal bracket it is necessary to seal with mastic 51-G-7;
  • apply DT-1 grease to the contact surface of the working cylinder pusher with the fork.

After filling with working fluid, bleed the hydraulic drive.
