Windscreen washer fluid (Chevrolet Orlando 1)

            0

Windshield washer fluid is used in a car to clean the windshield, rear window and headlights. Clean car windows play an important role in ensuring road safety, so choosing the right windshield washer fluid will largely ensure that the glass remains transparent and that visibility is good.

After driving on city streets covered with reagents, chemical contaminants remain on the glass. As a result, a rainbow film and white coating form on the glass surface, and the glass becomes less transparent. Therefore, it is important to wash away dirt from the glass surface in a timely and efficient manner.

To clean glass in the warm season, you can use water with car shampoo, but it is better to use special summer windshield washer fluids. They are made on a water basis with the addition of special active substances, so their cleaning ability, especially in relation to organic contaminants, is much higher than that of plain water.

Warning! At sub-zero temperatures, use only special winter windshield washer fluid. Freezing of the liquid can cause the tank, pump housing to rupture and the system to fail.

Low-freezing liquids on an alcohol basis are intended for use in winter. This allows them to be used depending on the concentration of alcohol in water in a temperature range from 0° to -30°C.

Warning! It is strictly forbidden to pour antifreeze into the tank! It will damage the paintwork of the car. It is prohibited to use windshield washer fluids that are not intended for use in cars, freeze at low temperatures, and detergent solutions! They can also damage the paintwork, windshield washer pump, and windshield wiper mechanism.

In addition to temperature and cleaning properties, low-temperature windshield washer fluid must have a number of characteristics (color, smell, composition), aimed at improving its properties. When choosing, please be guided by the following requirements:
  • Windshield washer fluid must be safe for health - it is best to use ethanol-based fluids or, in extreme cases, isopropyl alcohol, which has a sharper alcohol smell. Liquids containing methanol are prohibited from sale as it is highly toxic and hazardous to health. If methanol vapors enter the vehicle interior, severe poisoning of the driver and passengers is possible.
  • Windshield washer fluid should have a pleasant, soft aroma (or not smell at all). As a rule, manufacturers use fragrances to try to mask the sharp smell of isopropyl alcohol.

  • The windshield washer fluid should evaporate completely and not leave streaks, rainbow films or deposits on the glass surface that impair visibility - it is best to use blue fluid, as this is the most transparent and closest color to the glass, and thin films of other colors are visible on it and distort the road situation.

  • Windscreen washer fluid should not damage enamel and paint coatings and should not destroy plastic and rubber parts of the car.
