Absolute pressure sensor in the intake manifold (Chevrolet Orlando 1)

The manifold absolute pressure sensor measures the pressure (underpressure) in the air intake system. By pressure change (which depends on the engine load, crankshaft speed, and throttle opening) The ECU calculates the mass air flow to adjust the control commands. The absolute pressure sensor is installed on the rear wall of the intake manifold.



To measure pressure, the sensor uses a piezoelectric element, the signal of which changes proportionally to the pressure in the intake manifold.

If the sensor is faulty, the engine management system indicator light will come on on the instrument panel. You can only verify that the absolute pressure sensor is working properly using special equipment.
