Knock sensor (Chevrolet Orlando 1)

The knock sensor is installed on the rear wall of the cylinder block under the intake manifold.

The need to replace the sensor is determined during diagnostics of the engine management system.

We replace the sensor in the following order:

1. We prepare the vehicle for maintenance and repair and install it on an inspection pit or overpass.

2. Disconnect the wire from the negative terminal of the battery.

3. Remove the engine crankcase protection.

4. Release the retainer and disconnect the wiring harness block from the terminals of sensor A, disconnect the sensor terminal block from the bracket and the sensor wiring harness from holder B.

5. Using the TORX E14 key, unscrew the mounting bolt and remove the sensor.

6. Install the sensor in reverse order. Tighten the sensor mounting bolt to a torque of 20 Nm.

7. Before connecting the wiring harness block, treat its terminals with a cleaning agent and protector for electrical contacts.
