Replacing the diagnostic sensor (Chevrolet Orlando 1)

To perform the work, you will need a special 22 mm key to unscrew the oxygen concentration sensor (see section "Tools").

Warning. Oxygen concentration sensors are installed in the exhaust system, which heats up to high temperatures during engine operation. To avoid burns, sensors should be checked and removed after the system components have cooled to a safe temperature.


1. We prepare the vehicle for maintenance and repair and install it on an inspection pit or overpass.

2. Disconnect the wire terminal from the negative terminal of the battery.

4. Inspect the connector and make sure there is no corrosion, oxidation or damage. If necessary, treat it with a special agent to clean and protect electrical contacts.



5. Apply penetrating lubricant to the sensor and its mounting location and use a special 22 mm wrench to unscrew the sensor from the opening of the inlet pipe.

7. Install the new sensor in reverse order. Before installation, lubricate the sensor threads with copper-containing grease, making sure that the grease does not burst onto the sensitive element of the sensor. Tighten the sensor to a torque of 40 Nm.
