The air coming into the car from the street is cleaned of dirt and pollen particles in the cabin air filter, located in the housing of the climate control unit.

The air filter element must be replaced in accordance with the maintenance schedule (see "Replacing the cabin air filter").

Exhaust ventilation is provided through grilles installed on the side panels of the luggage compartment.
Helpful Hint: When placing cargo in the luggage compartment, try not to block the ventilation grilles if possible. Leave a small gap between the cargo and the trim panels. Effective operation of the exhaust ventilation improves the temperature in the cabin and reduces condensation on the window glass.
From the street side, the exhaust ventilation openings are covered by deflectors with petal valves, which are installed in the rear part of the body, in the cavity of the rear bumper.

Note: If you smell exhaust gases in the vehicle, check the operation and tightness of the deflector reed valves (view of the valve block from the trunk side with the trunk trim removed).
