
1. Apply the parking brake to the vehicle...

2. ...and install wheel chocks ("shoes") under the rear wheels.

3. Loosen the wheel mounting nuts on the side of the strut being replaced.
Warning: Loosen and tighten wheel nuts only with the vehicle on the ground.
4. Raise both sides of the front of the vehicle and support it securely.

5. Completely loosen the wheel mounting nuts and remove the wheel.

6. Remove the brake hose from the bracket on the shock absorber strut.

7. Loosen the nut securing the upper strut hinge pin to the shock absorber strut bracket, holding the pin with a second wrench to prevent it from turning.

8. Remove the upper strut hinge pin from the strut bracket hole.

9. While holding the bolt head from turning, unscrew the nuts of the tie bolts securing the shock absorber strut to the steering knuckle.

10. Remove the upper strut mount nut cap.

11. Using one wrench to hold the strut rod from turning, use the second wrench to loosen the upper shock absorber strut mounting nut.

12. Finally, unscrew the upper shock absorber mount nut...

13. ...and remove the thrust washer.

14. Remove the bolts securing the shock absorber strut to the steering knuckle and disconnect the strut from the steering knuckle.

15. Remove the shock absorber strut from the vehicle.
16. Install the shock absorber strut and all parts in the reverse order of removal.
17. If necessary, remove the second shock absorber strut in the same way.
Note: When the vehicle is on the ground, tighten the upper strut mount nut to the torque specified in appendix 1.
Recommendation: After replacing the front suspension shock absorber strut or its components, check and, if necessary, adjust the wheel alignment angles (see "Checking and adjusting wheel alignment angles"). To do this, use the services of workshops that have special equipment.
