Removal and installation the fuel vapor recovery system canister (Chevrolet Cruze J300)

The fuel vapor recovery system canister is removed for inspection or replacement if a persistent gasoline smell appears due to its leakage. In addition, a leaky canister can cause unstable engine operation at idle speed up to its shutdown.



The adsorber is installed on the right side of the fuel tank bracket.

You will need: 10 mm, 14 mm wrenches, pliers, and a flat-blade screwdriver.

1. Unscrew the bolts of the fuel tank mounting clamps, place a support under the tank (see "Replacing the fuel tank and its filler pipe"). Carefully lower the fuel tank enough to access the vapor tubes of the adsorber.



2. By squeezing the steam tube clamps...



3. ... remove their tips from the adsorber pipes,





4. After pressing the lock, remove the canister mounting lock from the bracket...



5. ...pull the canister up and remove it from the fuel tank bracket.

6. Install the adsorber in the reverse order of disassembly and removal.
