Removal the crankshaft position sensor (Chevrolet Lanos T150)

If the crankshaft position sensor fails, the engine will not run.

We remove the crankshaft position sensor for inspection or replacement.

Checking the crankshaft position sensor is shown in the section Troubleshooting.

The sensor can be accessed from above, from the engine compartment. For clarity, the sensor removal operations are shown from below the vehicle with the mudguard removed.

With the ignition off…

…press the spring lock of the engine management system wiring harness connector…


…press the spring lock of the engine management system wiring harness connector…

…and disconnect the wiring harness connector from the sensor wiring connector.


…and disconnect the wiring harness connector from the sensor wiring connector.

Using a 5 mm Allen key, unscrew the screw securing the sensor to the oil pump body.


Using a 5 mm Allen key, unscrew the screw securing the sensor to the oil pump body.



We remove the sensor from the hole in the oil pump housing.


We remove the sensor from the hole in the oil pump housing.

We install the crankshaft position sensor in the reverse order.
