Engine Crankshaft Position Sensor (view with gearbox removed) it is installed at the rear of the cylinder block, on the rear crankshaft oil seal, which has a special design.

The sensor wiring harness connector is located at the rear of the engine block (behind the starter).
If a fault occurs in the crankshaft position sensor circuit, the engine stops running, the ECU stores a fault code in its memory and turns on the warning light in the instrument cluster.
You will need: TORX keys E14, E18, T50, Allen keys "4", "6", socket heads "11", "12", "14", "19", mounting blade or large screwdriver, pliers, hammer...

...and a mandrel for centering the driven disk.
NOTE: It is recommended to remove the gearbox to remove the sensor. It is possible to do this without removing the gearbox, but in this case you will still have to remove the starter (see "Removal and installation the starter") and work in extremely cramped conditions, literally by touch.
1. Place the vehicle on an inspection pit or lift.
2. Disconnect the wire from the negative terminal of the battery.

3. Remove the engine crankcase guard (see "Removal and installation mudguards and engine crankcase protection").

4. Squeeze the sensor wiring harness connector retainer...

5. ...and disconnect the harness from the sensor connector block.
6. Remove the gearbox "Removal and installation of a manual gearbox" or "Removal and installation of automatic transmission").
7. On a vehicle with a manual transmission, remove the clutch (see "Removal and installation the clutch").

8. Remove the flywheel or torque converter drive plate (see "Removal and installation the flywheel or torque converter drive disk").

9. Remove the screw securing the crankshaft position sensor to the rear crankshaft oil seal.

10. Disconnect the sensor from the oil seal and remove it, removing the wiring harness seal from the cylinder block wall.
